New Affiliation System

The updated affiliation system was introduced on August 16th, 2008. Its implementation is both mechanical and cultural. The new system provides equal representation to feds that are affiliated with PTC, and is intended to make both the feds and PTC itself more accessible to people unfamiliar with them by providing key information and links.

The old Alumni/Affiliate linking convention was discontinued in response to concerns that PTC and some of the feds that have been open a long time are cliquey and hard to get involved with. There is some truth to these statements, depending on what your perspective is - i.e. if you've ever applied to one of the feds and not gotten a reply, or if you've just joined the PTC forums and been swiftly gangbanged by old timers after only a few posts, then you justifiably feel that way.

For affiliating with feds, the intent is to trade on PTC's main strength - the community.

PTC will affiliate with...

  • Feds with owners or senior staff that are willing to promote what is going on in the fed and become involved in the community. This ranges from advertising your shows and character activity each week, to participating in the Elite Championship scene, to posting graphics for feedback (and giving feedback on others graphics), to sharing your knowledge in many of the discussions on the forums. In short, be active and participate, as both parties gain from this.

PTC will not affiliate with...

  • Feds that use real wrestler imagery and/or characters. If this is your fed, feel free to use the advertising board.
  • Feds that want a cut and run link exchange, the owners never to be heard from again. If that is your cup of tea, feel free to use the advertising board whenever you drop by.
  • Feds that have "history" with PTC. There are a few out there that are doing fine where they are, and don't need to be here anymore.

How to Affiliate

  • Contact Argyle on the PTC forums via Private Message.
  • Add PTC's 88x31 to your fed's website in somewhere visible.
  • Make one or more 468x60 images to go in the rotation at the top of the forums. Update them frequently to promote your events.

FAQ

  • Q. Will affiliating with PTC make my fed a member of PTC? A. No. PTC doesn't have membership anymore for feds.
  • Q. Will affiliating with PTC impose any exclusivity rules on my fed? A. No. This was once a part of the PTC interfed membership structure, but it doesn't apply anymore with respect to PTC. If your fed has character or handler exclusivity, it is up to you to enforce it on your own roster members, it has nothing to do with PTC.
