LeStatt Knight (born Roberto Juan Abitua) is a Mexican wrestler born in Mexico City, Mexico. He was raised in Madrid, Spain by his wealthy uncle after his parent's death as an infant. Knight has went through an incredibly transformation from "Solid Athlete with come potential" to "Hall of Famer" since his original start in Global Championship Wrestling in 2001(under the guise of Khris Krowe). Despite his arrogance and the fact that fans boo him as passionately as anyone in GCW's history, Knight is one of the most respected men in wrestling because of his amazing loyalty and tireless work ethic.

HISTORY

LeStatt Knight or known to some as Roberto Abitua was born November 10th 1979 in Mexico City, Mexico. At birth his mother died leaving her husband with the pain of raising Roberto and his twin brother Damen. Not able to handle the pressure and the pain of losing his wife, Roberto's father blamed the children for his wife's death and shot himselff in the hospital.

The two children were separated from there, Roberto being sent to Spain to live with his wealthy uncle Juanito and Damen being sent to the United States to live with their grandmother. Roberto was brought up in a nice home with all the things any child could ask for, loving parents, good schooling, and toys like you wouldn't believe. It was when he was very young that Roberto began learning to speak different languages and different forms of martial arts as well as amateur wrestling.

When Roberto was fourteen he met Cynthia Martinez, a young and beautiful girl who shared the same school as he did. They dated for close to three years before Cindy became pregnant when the couple were 17 years old. Knowing their families wouldn't accept this other wise the young couple got married, a few months later they had their daughter, Starr Abitua.

When Starr was less than two years old a tragic car accident took her life along with Cindy's. Roberto fled from Spain after this on a trail that led him to a twin brother he never knew he had. Damen was a polar opposite of Roberto, into drugs, gangs, etc. and Roberto with his money and ability joined right in.

The two thought they were invincible until a Drug Lord in Detroit, Michigan forced Roberto to watch his brother die. Roberto went into hiding aftter that not to be seen for over a year. It wasn't until a man helped Roberto learn to harness the aggression and rage built inside of him. This is when Roberto met his long time friend David Guerrero AKA RaZiel. It was RaZiel who brought Roberto into wrestling getting him in with an upstart promotion called Global Championship Wrestling under the name of Khris Krowe, a masked entity with very few words.

His career began very rocky in GCW under the Krowe name and soon Roberto fought hard to get a makeover of sorts. At Dangerous Games 2001 he lost the mask and entered the famous Battle Royal as LeStatt Knight.

Although Roberto nor RaZiel felt Roberto got the fair treatment he deserved they built on the GCW experience and went to prosper in other places such as XCW, 3WA, and even becoming World Champion in Dragon Wrestling Association after beating his most hated rival, Alex Grey, known in the GCW world as PAYNE.

Roberto has learned many lessons in his lifetime and although he is only 27 years old, his eyes tell a much older story. Roberto has learned to love since the tragedy that came down onto his family, falling for the controvertial Typhoid Mary. The two have since had their first child together, a son named Joaquin Roberto Abitua.

Although He has been in a few other promotions throughout his time in wrestling, Roberto has always thought of GCW as his home. Not only is it where he got his start but it's also where he found his greatest villain (turned greatest ally).

Since returning to GCW in 2005 the name "LeStatt Knight" has become more than anyone ever could have imagined. In the two years since GCW's reopening Knight has become nothing short of a legend, holding the US Title for (at the time) a record setting time, two time World Champion and has been inducted into the GCW Hall of Fame. He has notched wins against the best GCW has had and is now considered perhaps the most dominate entity in GCW's history.

Today Knight is a part of the most prolific version of Steven Caldera's Establishment ever seen with members Rich Rollins, Octavian and Branson King. For all of their star power however many see Knight as the heart and soul of the group. He has been GCW's rock, through the good times and the bad.

Although he has not had his hands on the World Title in almost a year it remains his main goal. Currently he is in the middle of a feud with young superstar Jay Terror, a budding prospect who looks to be the future of GCW. Problem is, as always, to be the best you have to beat the best.

And no one has proven more in GCW than LeStatt Knight.

Khris Krowe

When Roberto Abitua first debuted in GCW it was under a mask and going by the name of Khris Krowe. He had a few opportunities to make a splash by being involved in a TV Title Battle Royal and a #1 contendership triple threat match for the same title not far down the road. As Krowe, Roberto never quite felt comfortable so he was granted permission from President Caldera to alter his gimmick and thus Khris Krowe was dead.

GCW (01)

It was Dangerous Games 2001 that saw the creation of LeStatt Knight. There was an immediate change and LeStatt Knight began to impress people all around GCW. Problems came when Knight let the good things being said about him get to his head. He became the TV champion but would go on to lose it a mere 12 days later to Zippy with help of interference of fellow rising star Tristain Mayhem whom he was in the middle of a brutal feud with. Devil's Night 2001 saw the end of this feud come with an incredible ladder match. Tristain Mayhem went on to win which is what sprung him up the GCW ladder and into superstardom. LeStatt Knight however was not so lucky. The wins became less frequent and soon his motivation and work ethic took a drastic hit resulting in a release from GCW.

Off Time

There have been numerous interviews with LeStatt Knight over the years about what he did with his time away from GCW from late 01 into early 02 but very little has been established. Some reports say he returned to his home in Spain to fix a strained relationship with his Aunt and Uncle that raised him. Others say that he went to Mexico (bringing the Khris Krowe moniker back to life) and worked on his wrestling technique and found his passion once again.

GCW (02)

LeStatt Knight returned to GCW in early/mid 2002 with a new outlook on himself and his career. He seemed more focused and driven than ever. He would go on to defeat GCW legend Luke Hanson in a scaffold match, JNightmare (The Dark Messiah) in a one on one encounter and he even managed a pinfall over fan favorite, The Jhub. Knight's most memorable series of events in this new run in GCW was his blood feud with GCW superstar Payne(Alex Grey). While 02 was more successful than his previous run Knight was still left unfulfilled because of a lack of recognition or title shots. He remained with the company until it's "final" show but was more than happy to move on.

Dragon Wrestling Association

In the late summer of 2002 LeStatt Knight resurfaced in DWA, a non PTC federation. According to Knight this is actually where he learned the most about what he could be with the right amount of motivation. In DWA Knight went through a year long battle with ex-GCW star Payne that culminated in Knight almost breaking Payne's back in his quest to win the DWA World Title (his first World Title of his career). DWA is also where he would meet his future wife, Typhoid Mary. Knight's dream of holding a World Title was cut short in August of 2003 when his Uncle became terminally Ill and Knight had to leave the World Title vacant the day after beating Payne for it. A week later he was inducted into the DWA Hall of Fame.

3WA

In January 2004 Knight returned from Spain after his Uncle had passed away and went right back into what he does best. Although he never did win a World Championship in this promotion (settling only for the North American Championship) Knight would meet up with numerous other stars that he'd end up battling later down the line in GCW such as Johnny Lexicon, Trey Tremendous, Jordan White AND Typhoid Mary once again. His run in 3WA lasted nearly a year before the fed closed down in January of 2005.

GCW (05-Present)

This is where Knight really began to distinguish himself. Although his first match back was a loss to Niklaus Bauer for the HardCore Title, Knight was determined to make his mark on GCW THIS time. 2005 saw the beginning of a run that nobody in GCW's history has ever matched and may never match again. First Knight would go on to beat Mike Hary and Natural Born Killer (NBK) in a one night tournament for the United States Title on Feb 23rd 2005. Knight proclaimed that he would not be a lame duck champion and decided to put the United States Title on the line every week and against any and all challengers. During his title reign many began to whisper that Knight was the best talent GCW had and that it was only a matter of time before the World Title would be his. Although his US Title reign (considered by some to be the greatest of All-Time) ended unceremoniously at the June 9th edition of WorldWide (defeated by Trey Tremendous) Knight was immediately sent up the ranks, needing only to smash his "friend" Jason Dread over the head to get the shot he deserved. At Dangerous Games 2005 Knight and Jason Dread faced off in a brutal "I Quit" Match that saw these two GCW Legends give it everything they had AND then some. The match ended with Knight dousing Dread with Gasoline and holding an open flame to him face, threatening to light him on fire if Dread did not quit. LeStatt Knight was the World Champion, thus beginning a reign of terror in GCW never before seen.

LeStatt Knight and Michael "SpitFire" Stevens (winner of the 05 DG Battle Royal)would go on to begin a feud for the World Championship that is considered an All-Time great by any and every wrestling fan in the world. Knight would prove his worth time and time again by defeating Stevens two times leading up to an unlikely third bout at NC-17. It took FOUR Inferno DDT's and every ounce of energy he had, but Stevens FINALLY managed to wrench the World Title from LeStatt's grasp ending a legendary era in GCW.

Knight would again grab the World Title in June 2006 at RAMPAGE, defeating Dawn McFarlane in a hard fought match. This reign was fine but nowhere near the levels that the 2005 version was. Knight would again drop the title at NC-17, this time in a triple threat match against Dawn and Lia Ambrosi with Ambrosi capturing her first GCW World Championship.

2007 has been a difficult year for LeStatt Knight as it began with an injury that kept him out for four months. Knight would return to be the leader of The Establishment but was soon overshadowed by promising youngster Jordan White. It didn't help matters that Knight would lose to Vivica Valentine at Warpath only to watch Jordan defeat her in the finals and become the #1 contender for the World Championship, making him the "Leader" by default. Rumors swirled that Knight was unhappy with his role and would either split The Establishment or retire from wrestling completely. Knight decided to stay and was awarded with a Hall of Fame induction, become only the second person to be inducted while still on the active roster. This led to a feud with fellow GCW original Twizzy, who felt snubbed by Caldera when Knight was given the HoF nod instead of him. Knight would dominate the feud, destroying Twizzy at Tsunami and then again defeating him at Dangerous Games. Knight came close to claiming a shot at the World Title in the Dangerous Games Battle Royal but fell just short, being the last person eliminated by Vivica Valentine.

Today he is an important piece to Steven Caldera's newest Establishment. He is currently feuding with GCW rising star, Jay Terror in what many see as a possible World Title match down the line.
