Steve Knox is an American professional wrestler currently competing in New Frontier Wrestling. Despite the short amount of time he has spent in NFW, he has made one of the strongest debuting impacts in recent memory in the promotion. He is the older brother of Simon Knox and the younger brother of Soren Knox (Captain Justice), is the first and current PTC Elite Champion, and the current NFW National Champion.

Early History

Steve was trained by his father, Earl Knox, when he was just fifteen years old. Shortly after his father's death, Steve followed him into professional wrestling and struggled to make it work despite his young age inhibiting his ability to gain booking dates. He became known for adopting a power-like style revolving around suplexes and technical abilities.

the Squared Circle

Steve caught his break in 2005, when he joined the Squared Circle shortly after it had lost its television deal and had to essentially start anew. In a one night tournament, Steve defeated "the Original" Jeff Garvin, Coral Avalon, and Daniel Phillips to win the Squared Circle's Championship, previously held by Rook Black. Steve quickly asserted his dominance in the struggling promotion, winning the Circle's Evolutionary and Tag Team Championships for the first times. However, soon after losing the tag titles to the Falk Brothers, Steve's dominance in the promotion began to fail and he lost the Championship and the Evolutionary Title to Steven Silver and Max Danger at Unprovoked II.

Despite numerous attempts to regain the Championship, his inability to defeat Steven Silver and regain the Championship threw a monkey wrench into his plans, though he managed to briefly recapture the Tag Team Championships from the Falk Brothers with Rory Hayes as a partner. After losing the Tag Titles to the Blue Rogues, Knox competed in an eight man elimination match to determine the title defense order for the Championship, coming in fourth and earning a title shot at Dawning. There, Steve defeated the champion, Seymour Almasy, with the Double Standard, to win the title a second time.

Steve had a successful string of title defenses, including defeating his nemesis, Steven Silver. However, he lost the title to Inoue Doi, who then lost it to Daniel Phillips. Phillips held the Championship for over a year, turning back Steve Knox twice in two classic matches. Finally, Steven Sivler regained the Championship, leading to a brutal series of matches between himself and Steve Knox. Finally, at the very last show of 2007, Steve finally defeated Steven Silver with the Double Standard to regain the Championship a third time.

New Frontier Wrestling

While defending his Championship in tSC, Steve unexpectedly signed with New Frontier Wrestling and competed at Wrestlestock 2: Double or Nothing's Television Title Royale. Despite his unfamiliarity with NFW, especially given how much different it was compared to the Squared Circle, Steve outlasted many opponents in the Television Title royale before eliminating himself, Impulse, and SARS; inadvertantly giving Joe The Plumber the win.

Since then, Steve has overcome several opponents in the ring. Most recently, Steve Knox pinned Teresa Quaranta for the NFW National Championship, though it only came after Uber Judge blasted her over the back of the head with his gavel.

Elite Championship

Steve Knox was chosen to represent NFW in an eight-man, five-fed interpromotional tournament for the interpromotional Elite Championship.

Steve first faced Evolution Pro Wrestling World Champion, Jesse Jamester, in the first round at Ringside Wrestling on July 16th, narrowly defeating him with the Double Standard. Two weeks later, Steve managed to once again overcome a world champion by defeating Lance Marshall, holder of the SCCW Universal Title, on EPW Riot on July 30th. This time, Knox defeated his much larger opponent by hitting him with the Gold Rush out of nowhere to win the match and advance to the finals.

On August 10th, on the second night of Colossus V, Steve Knox defeated Andy Murray to win the Elite Championship, after hitting Murray with the Double Standard.

In Wrestling

Steve is best known for utilizing an array of suplexes mixed in with power wrestling and technical moves to create a style akin to simply throwing an opponent down into submission. He frequently eschews mat wrestling in favor of brawling and then popping off a suplex, but he can mat wrestle if he feels he has to.
