TEAM is an interpromotional governing body that promotes three major tournaments, four interfederational Championships and several SuperShows. Unlike other interfeds, there are no member feds, and all wrestlers in good standing in the community are welcome to participate in events.

==History==
===Original Ideas===
TEAM was started in 2005 by Jess Chapel. Chapel, a former booker with [[A1E]] and owner of the defunct [[UXW]] indie fed, started the promotion with the intent of fusing traditional professional wrestling with team-based sports like football and baseball. Chad Merritt actually coined the name "TEAM" for the fed.

Chapel started drumming up interest among the [[PTC]], [[FW]] and [[EWN]] circuits. While he had more than a few free agents and rookies to fill the ranks of rogue teams, he found only minimal interest in committing full teams for a full slate of seasonal scheduling.

===The First TEAM Invitational Tournament===
While not giving up on his original idea to have a full-time team-based fed, Chapel decided in the interim to run an open invitational tournament in the vein of March Madness. He called it the TEAM Invitational Tournament. The prize at the end was the Chad Merritt Trophy. Named for the founder of the [[CSWA]], the trophy was originally slated to be awarded to the Most Valuable Wrestler of the original TEAM league.

Thirty-two wrestlers participated in this first tournament. Much like the NCAA Basketball Tournament after it was modeled, the first TiT had four regions: Philadelphia, PA; Calgary, AB; Greensboro, NC; and St. Louis, MO. The first two rounds were held in those respective cities, while Portland, OR hosted the regional finals, and Madison Square Garden in New York City hosted the semifinals and finals. In those finals, [[Karl Brown]] defeated [[Victor Molotov]] to become the first ever TEAM tournament winner.

Following up on the success of the first TiT, Chapel decided to strike again with another tournament, this time a "one-night" deal where singles Champions of feds all across the wrestling spectrum would be invited. This Tournament of Champions took place in June of 2006 in Philadelphia, PA. It ended up being two-nights due to the turnout of invitees who confirmed. Competitors included [[High Flyer]], [[Lindsay Troy]], [[Jake Hix]] and [[Karina Wolfenden]], but an upstart, [[D!]], from the little-known [[New Alberta Pro Wrestling]], took the tournament, defeating [[Mr. Amazing!]] in the final match. He was subsequently crowned the first ever TEAM Champion of Champions. It was after this tournament that Chapel announced that TEAM's focus would shift from the full-time team-based federation into a loosely confederated interfederational construct, providing tournaments and "dream cards."

D!'s first defense of the CoC came at TEAM SuperShow I, held in Boston, MA, against Karl Brown. D! won the match, but was assaulted by Mr. Amazing! after the match.
