	Edward has battled for years with alcoholism. During the beginning of his career his alcoholism was overlooked, as substance abuse during the early nineties was a common occurance. Despite various collegues and friends taking performance enhancing and mind altering substances, Edward stuck with the bottle. Eventually, following his stint with the UWF, Edward spent sixty days in a county jail for a drunk driving violation, and upon release he entered a rehabilitation program to help his alcoholism. 	This first attempt at sobriety failed less than four hours following his release from rehab, and Edward was drinking again. During his time in the DWO and the early years of his time in the NWC Edward became known as a constant drinker. He claimed that his drinking helped remove the various pains that accompanied his life, but in truth he was simply an alcoholic. His first public bout of alcoholism was hushed over by the NWC corporate offices but it would come back to plague him less than a year later. Following the NWC restructuring Edward wrestled intoxicated at the NWC event "Devils Due" and was terminated on the spot. Edward was forced into rehab a second time by his family and after emerging ~~four~~ months later he returned to wrestling a sober man. 	Edward began his career as a professional wrestler in Canada during the early nineties. Dave Rorabeck owned and ran an organization called the "Degenerate World Order" based out of Toronto. He saw something of talent in the largely untrained Edward and hired him to a temporary contract. Edwards had two years of semi-professional experience he earned while wrestling in college, however when he moved to Toronto and began working with the man wrestlers called Scribe he finally began coming into his own. 	Edward entered the [[National Wrestling Council]]		Edward entered the [[National Wrestling Council]] in company with a few of his friends from the DWO. These five men called themselves the Crimson Riot, and while they were some of the more talented independant talent to enter the NWC in quite some time, nobody gave them much credit due to their names. Wrestling at the time was leaving the more gimmicky names behind and pushing into edgier territory, and the five men who made up the Crimson Riot were viewed as something of a throwback. Despite talent and drive, the entrance of these five men was viewed as a joke. Time and again Edward and his friends wrestled in gimmicky matches in the New England Wrestling Syndicate, a territory of the NWC known for it's gimmicky matches and various inane actions. Following NEWS's final PPV, "Outside In" the five men who made up the Crimson Riot went their seperate ways. Four of the five men left the NWC, leaving only Edward remaining.

			Following the closure of the NEWS, Edward entered a contract with the Seattle Wrestling Federation, another of the many territories that worked together under the umbrella of the National Wrestling Council. For a time in the SWF Edward floundered, before again beginning to turn heads with his penchant for violence, his bad temper, and his seemingly incessant alcoholism. When finally the SWF closed it's doors, Edward was a well known talent in the NWC and rode a mild wave of popularity into a contract with Minnesota State Wrestling.

			== NWC: MSW ==

			Edward entered the MSW on a wave of speculation. Rather than eschewing his popularity as he had previously, Edward began to cater to his fans and his popularity rose to levels he had never dreamed of before. Rather than being mired in the midcard with stereotypical hardcore wrestlers, Edward's star was on the rise. Following a three match series with one of the most respected grapplers in the NWC, Edward found himself challenging for the MSW's Heavyweight Title. Following a brutal match with The Hunter, Edward had achieved his first heavyweight title. It was followed shortly afterwards by his challenging the NWC's World Heavyweight Champion: Lance Marshall.

			Unfortunatly, during his preperations to face Marshall for the NWC World Title, Edward had a public blackout that the NWC offices attributed to mild brain damage from his years of abuse in various hardcore matches. In reality the truth was his alcoholism had reared it's ugly head. Desperate to not have one of their more popular stars look like a violent drunk, the NWC and MSW forced Edward to stick to the brain damage story for the remainder of his NWC career, a very unpopular move as it was fairly obvious that no such damage had occured. Despite the idiotic story he had been forced into, Edward faced Lance Marshall, and in one of two five star matches that occured in the NWC that year, Edward captured the NWC World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career and less than a year after joining the NWC.
