	Born on the Island of Komodo, Indonesia to American parents who were wildlife researchers commissioned the study the feeding behaviour, reproduction, and body temperature of the largely unknown Komodo Dragons. ~~And so~~, ~~young~~ Matt grew up around these massive beasts. 	When Matt’s mother was attacked by a dragon in his mid-teens the family took the decision to move back to the United States. They moved to a small town called Montrose in Iowa, which provided a more normal environment for the teenage boys. With his mother recovering from her injuries his father was the primary caretaker for the three boys. Matt developed an interest in [[pro wrestling]], which didn’t sit well with his devoutly Christian father who didn’t approve of the sport at all. As Matt’s interest grew, his relationship with his father became more and more strained.
