Karina Marie Wolfenden (born December 22, 1981) is a former sports entertainer, part-time exteme sports practitioner, and current owner of the K2 sportswear range. She is often referred to by her old ring-name of 'The K-Wolf'.

Karina Wolfenden is well known for her constantly changing appearance, mainly in her choice of hair colour and style. During her career as a sports entertainer, her hair colour alternated frequently between blonde, pink, orange, purple, brown, black, blue and red, while the style and mix of colour combinations altered on an almost monthly basis. It’s been suggested by some that this was a reflection of her mood at the time, noting the black/blue and fiery orange/black colour combinations during periods of her feuds with Magnum Wolf and Ignatius Lisieux where she was at her lowest (black/blue) and most angry (orange/black).

While the chameleon-esque changes helped add to her appeal with wrestling fans, it did little to endear her to her fellow wrestlers, who often felt dramatic changes in their character or new moves and mannerisms they introduced were overlooked because Karina felt like dying her fringe a different colour.

Although her ring attire also changed with regular frequency, it was more notable for its reservedness opposed to the revealing outfits many of the female sports entertainers at the time were wearing. Despite often implementing fishnet or lace, often only her shoulders and midriff were exposed, making the attire quite modest by comparison.

Danny Ferguson of PRIME helped sum up the phenomena by informing the newly-signed Lindsay Troy that, “Although, if you plan on sticking around, maybe you should re-think that whole “tall dyke who kicks hard” gimmick - we already have one of those, and she dyes her hair every third week and dresses like a fetish hooker, so I think she’d win the ‘marketability’ battle."

Wrestling Career

Since her debut on the Pro Wrestling Circuit in early 2003, Karina Wolfenden has been one of the most successful and controversial sports entertainers in history. While her accomplishments as a female wrestler rank behind only those of the calibre of 'The Queen of the Ring' Lindsay Troy, her reputation as a divisive locker-room influence, a hair-trigger temper and her often baffling inconsistency have helped fuel accusations that her success was fuelled more by relationships and politics than her own talent.

While backstage reports paint a less-positive picture of Karina Wolfenden, christened "The K-Wolf" early in her career, she has enjoyed a strong and loyal fanbase over the years, the core of which remained with her even when her on-camera persona began to be influenced by backstage feelings. Having enjoyed a long spell as the dominant female in PTC surpassing Tessa Windsor and Chryste and having a strong run before the emergence of the likes of Shadow (Lia Ambrosi) and the arrival of Lindsay Troy, Karina was a much in-demand star throughout the most successful spells of her career, allowing her to command a salary akin to those of the top male stars.

Despite successful spells in several smaller promotions, Wolfenden gained world-wide fame during her record-breaking run in PRIME. She debuted with a victory over Nova, which launched her into a 10-match, record-setting winning streak, including winning the 2005 Dual Halo, and culminating in defeating Chris Sloboda for the PRIME Universal Championship. During her PRIME stints, she also captured the PRIME Tag Team Titles with Tessa Windsor, defeated John Edwards for the Alias Title, set a record for the number of wins a single superstar had accomplished, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Old School Wrestling

Karina's stay in OSW was a short but controversial period. Having been brought in under her 'Hardcore Candy' moniker to partner Tessa Windsor against the trio of Hoyt Williams and the Forsaken, it was the arrival of nemesis Magnum Wolf that was to trigger her most memorable OSW moment, and begin a trend of happenings behind the camera dominating her career. On the eve of her heavily-promoted pay-per-view match as Windsor's partner against the Forsaken, Karina Wolfenden threatened to no-show unless Old School Entertainment ceased their ongoing negotiations with Magnum Wolf, beginning her campaign to blackball his name in pro-wrestling circles. Negotiations with Wolf were halted, and although later reports revealed that his heat with premier OSW talent was the major factor in not signing Magnum, the blame was attached solely to Wolfenden.

Rush Pro Wrestling

After a her short stint and worldwide exposure in OSW, Karina was signed up to the North Carolina-based RPW, forming part of their debut roster. Having built up a large and loyal following, Wolfenden was immediately pushed as one of it's top five faces, her aerial daredevil style used to showcase it's Eclipse division - the freestyle, high-tempo, high-risk division. Despite winning the Eclipse belt at RPW's debut show, and being trusted with pushing the Eclipse ethic, her attentions were once again focussed on Magnum Wolf, who was hired despite protestations both on and off camera by Wolfenden.

Having fallen from the stars to the gutter since his time in the Pro Wrestling Circuit, Magnum placed the blame for his decline solely on Karina Wolfenden, driven to depression by imagining the career he would have had if he's never crossed swords with the K-Wolf in the PWC. Their fierce rivalry was re-ignited, and duo waged war for over 6 months. During this time, Wolfenden won a number of battles, including exposing his fraudulent attempt to paint himself as a wrongly-persecuted genuine good-guy just as it looked as if he'd turned the promotion against her, leading him into a savage beating by Violence Jack and his followers after he cost Jack his match against Wolfenden in trying to prove he was really on her side, and she even landed a kick so hard that the taunts of "Magnum has only got one ball!" are medically correct. In retaliation, Wolf broke Karina's nose, distorted footage and staged events to paint himself as an innocent victim, taking the fans from Wolfenden and sending her into her worst ever losing streak, and to top it off, defeated her in convincing fashion to capture the RPW championship.

Primetime Central

Wolfenden's PTC career has drawn much criticism and controversy. For every achievement there seems to be a black mark. She began promisingly, reaching the final of the first Cruiserweight tournament only to be defeated by Seymour Almasy in a close-fought contest. This was then followed by the capture of the PTC Tag Team titles when teaming with Tessa Windsor. The victory in the Seven of the Best event then gifted her a shot at the PTC Global Title, which she took against the then-champion, fellow PRIMEate Emilio Rage.

Despite Rage being out of fed action on medical advice following a concussion, he defended his title against Wolfenden, who delivered several fierce kicks to the head, concluding with a Double-Impact Roundhouse Kick that knocked Rage out. Upon being handed the belt, Karina acknowledged that she was fighting a wounded man, then became the first and only Global Champion to vacate the belt, saying that when the powers that be found an opponent who could give her a fair fight, she'd be back for her shot, sparking a multi-fed brawl at ringside in the process that lead to Jason Hughes desecrating the strap.

After handing back the belt, the K-Wolf's PTC form dipped, leading to either sub-par performances or her no-showing the event entirely. With the emergence of the new generation of PTC stars such as Rich Rollins and Doctor Curiosity, it was noted more and more that despite her accomplishments, Karina had yet to defeat a Deville, Almasy, Rollins, etc. in PTC competition.

Her inconsistent form was highlighted in GTT6. After drawing the 'PRIME Killer' Digital Mortality in the first round, Wolfenden was marked as a potential first round casualty, no longer an automatic choice to progress through the early stages... a prediction helped by Digi's heralded record against PRIME talent. As it turned out, Karina defeated Morality in convincing fashion to progress, only to again fall victim to her own inconsistency, being eliminated by AWC's Agent Dash.

Seeing a chance to stamp her mark on PTC one last time, Karina Wolfenden cashed in an invite for a chance to be crowned the last ever PTC Extreme Champion, the one belt she needed for a PTC grand slam. Her efforts to go down in history as the only grand slam winner were however thwarted by fellow PRIMEate Dusk, who narrowly defeated her in what would be her last PTC match.

Killyouintheface Style

During her career, Karina became known as the innovator of ‘Killyouintheface’ style. The mix of death-defying aerial assaults teamed with ferocious kicks, knees and spinning backfists to the face helped win the K-Wolf her legion of fans, and even endeared her to wrestling purists who had initially derided her lack of sound wrestling technique. Despite the style being wildly popular with crowds, the injuries caused by Wolfenden, notable to Magnum Wolf and Emilio Rage, drew criticism that her lack of concern for an opponent’s health translated into a lack of respect for them as professionals in the same business.
