ACWF Match

The ACWF Match is GCW's signature match. Named after the ACWF promotion where innovators The Jhub and Khan got their start, ACWF now stands for Asphalt, Chains, Wrenches and Forklifts. The match begun held in a parking lot, where the objective was to use a forklift to raise yourself to the title belt suspended above the concrete ring area. The match has since been adapted to accommodate non-title matches, but remains the most brutal match in all of professional wrestling.

ACWF I

The first ACWF Match was held at Annihilation in the CWU. The Jhub masterminded the brutal concept and defended his United States Title against Khan. The match was every bit as violent and bloody as promised, and saw the rise of Khan as one of the world's premier athletes. The match is generally viewed as dominated by Khan, who defeated The Jhub and won the title.

ACWF II

The Jhub challenged Khan to an ACWF rematch at GCW's version of Annihilation later in 2001. The two met in a contest that was even more intense than the first. The Jhub was aided in part by Mike Hardy, his System-X teammate who returned to keep the match even. In the end, The Jhub evened the score with Khan and defeated his nemesis to win in his signature event.

ACWF III

The Jhub returned to the match that he'd placed his brand on at NC-17 2001. This time his opponent was bitter rival Rich 'The Renegade' Rollins. The contest is widely regarded as the best ACWF Match of the series and featured the two future Hall of Fame athletes at their best. Once again The Jhub proved to be the toughest man in the business, defeating Rollins with the Sharpshooter in a brutal match that ultimately ended Rollins' career for several years.

ACWF IV

The fourth ACWF match was a first in that it was the main event of Shockwave 2002, and was the first ACWF match to be featured in the arena. The ring was removed and the contest fought on the bare floor. The Jhub returned once more to vie for the GCW World Title against champion Badger Benandanti and Octavian. The legendary match lived up to its predecessors, but The Jhub fell short this time, falling to new champion Octavian.

ACWF V

In perhaps the most grand ACWF match of all time, The Jhub met Jason O'Neil at X-Wrestling's first Pay-Per-View, Evolution. The two met in the abandoned GCW Headquarters high rise in Columbus, Ohio. The match was beyond violent, seeing The Jhub fall from the top of the building at the hands of O'Neil. The Jhub continued the match but ultimately fell short, leaving O'Neil with the win.

ACWF VI

The biggest ACWF match of all time was the first Pay-Per-View main event of GCW's second generation. At the self-titled Pay-Per-View event, Jason Dread, Mike Hardy, Octavian, Toad, Twisted and The Jhub competed in a massive ACWF match to crown a new World Champion. Each man came within inches of capturing the coveted belt, but ultimately it was Jason Dread winning his second title and scoring his first ACWF win.

ACWF VII

ACWF VII was not hosted by GCW, instead appearing at a PTC cooperative event. Trey Tremendous fought Eva VanLorne in the exhibition, and VanLorne captured the major victory.

ACWF VIII

An unprecedented event occurred at NC-17 2006. The first ever Tag Team ACWF match took place, featuring stars from both GCW and PRIME. Steven Caldera and Seymour Almasy teamed up to represent GCW, taking on the turncoat Rich 'The Renegade' Rollins and his new partner Angelo Deville. Ultimately it was team GCW emerging victorious as Caldera forced Rollins to submit.

Other Matches

The ACWF match has been emulated in other promotions around the world. It is not known exactly how many ACWF matches there have been, but the only ones officially recognized are those held in Global Championship Wrestling.
