The Infinite Gauntlet is one of the premiere events that occurs in Primetime Central. It's an ongoing series of challenges that tests the competitors involved. The current Infinite Gauntlet Champion is [[David Danny Morrison]].

Infinite Gauntlet began in 2005, prior to GTT5.  It ran on a weekly basis. It is notable in PTC history for being first avenue that Free Agents had to able to compete in PTC sanctioned matches.
The Infinite Gauntlet works, in nearly every case, as a series. The first step of the series is the Open Invitational, where anyone can compete. Open Invitational rounds are usually not fought for the championship (the exceptions being round 31, which was won by [[Jason Snow]], and the Trash Talk Spectacular when Snow lost the belt to [[Tchu]]) and serve to determine the contenders for the next two or three rounds. Therefore, the champion does not necessarily defend every round.

In addition to casual competition, the Infinite Gauntlet provides, as part of its design, a means of entry into things with limited placements that are going on in PTC at the time.  For example, winning an amount of consecutive rounds qualified players to compete for [[PTC Global Title|Global]] and [[PTC Extreme Title|Extreme]] titles (and later the [[PTC Unified Title|Unified title]]). A notable example of this was [[Archibald MacGreggor]] qualifying for an Extreme Title shot as a free agent, something previously impossible to achieve in PTC.  IG also allowed handlers to play for guaranteed spots in [[GTT5]] and [[GTT6]].

The Infinite Gauntlet is an ongoing competition held by Primetime Central. It is currently the highest accolade sanctioned by PTC.

Competition

The Infinite Gauntlet works, in nearly every case, as a series. The first step of the series is the Open Invitational, where anyone can compete. Open Invitational rounds are usually not fought for the championship (the exceptions being round 31, which was won by Jason Snow, and the Trash Talk Spectacular when Snow lost the belt to Tchu) and serve to determine the contenders for the next two or three rounds. Therefore, the champion does not necessarily defend every round.

In addition to casual competition, the Infinite Gauntlet provides, as part of its design, a means of entry into things with limited placements that are going on in PTC at the time.
