Seymour Almasy (born Jason Seymour Wilson on June 12, 1981) is a retired American professional wrestler. Almasy is considered one of the biggest talents in the history of Primetime Central, known for his RPG-based "Final Fantasy" character. In spite of achieving great success in his career, he also faced nearly equal misfortune in his personal life.

Early Life

Most of Seymour's early history has been subject to modification and outright falsification due to his RPG-oriented gimmick. The best that can be ascertained from what Seymour himself has said is here.

Born on Long Island to middle-class parents, Seymour became acquainted with video games at an early age thanks to his father. Seymour and his dad would often play together after long days at work as an investment banker. His mother was a housewife and noted party girl, often abandoning Seymour alone at home to go out with her friends.

When Seymour was five years old, his father passed away in a car accident, leaving his mother alone to take care of Seymour. She proved neglectful at this task, leaving Seymour alone in the house four or five days a week until all hours of the night. Eventually, a neighbor picked up on this, and called Child Services. Seymour's mother served a short prison term for child neglect, and she and her son are not on speaking terms to this day.

Child Services placed Seymour with his grandfather, Cid Wilson, who lived in Manhattan. It was there that Seymour first met Laura Marie Winters, better known to wrestling fans as Aerith Heartilly. Seymour and Laura befriended each other quickly, in spite of Seymour being an easy teasing target for the other students in school. The pair were inseparable friends until the end of high school, when college sent them in different directions, Seymour to Penn State, and Laura to Delaware.

Jason took up history as his major, but rapidly grew tired of the college life. A local wrestling school seemed to offer a way out of the tedium for classes, and so during his sophomore year, Seymour began training for the ring.

By the time he was a junior, he left college, ready to try and make his name on the independent scene. Realizing how competitive it could be, he utilized the video games that he had always loved and played to craft himself the persona of "The Final Fantasy" Seymour Almasy, a man who believed himself to be an character in a role-playing video game.

Sending out applications to all of the federations he could find, he was summarily rejected by most for being too cartoony. A promotion called LCW: Evolution offered Seymour a contract, but folded soon after. This left Seymour to sign with the only other promotion who wanted him, the Universal Wrestling Federation.

Universal Wrestling Federation

Signed to the UWF in 2002, Seymour debuted for the company in the summer. Armed with his unique Fallen One submission move, childhood friend Laura as his valet, and a belief that he was, in fact, an RPG character, Almasy fought his way up the ranks of the company in his first few matches. Along the way, he developed perhaps one of his most notable rivalries in the sport against UWF Television Champion Tsunami Oni, who kidnapped Aerith and had his valet Shiatsu do unspeakable things to her.

Their rivalry came to a head at UWF Defining Moment, with the first ever Mount Gagazet Deathmatch, culminating in Almasy capturing the Television strap from Tsunami Oni. While he dropped the belt soon after to Kenny Mercury under the Purple Haze guise, Almasy forged ahead in a tournament for the Shoot Wrestling Championship. Entering as the number one seed, Almasy scored three straight victories via Fallen One submission to capture the title, which he would hold until November of 2002. Also during this time period, Almasy formed a partnership with Tsunami Oni. Dubbing themslves "The Empire," the pair made several unsuccessful bids for the UWF World Tag Team Championship until Almasy disappeared from the company for five months.

Making his return in April of 2003, Almasy soon reclaimed his Television Championship, and defended it an impressive thirteen times before surrendering the title to Blake Ransom thanks to Jamie Shock interference. Taking on some of the company's best in the coming months, Almasy defeated "Unforgiven" Ben Jericho to earn a shot at the UWF World Championship at the Coronation PPV event against Pete the PG Hips Chimp. After twenty minutes of action that made every technical wrestler in PTC, alive or dead, roll over in their graves, Seymour dropped Aerith's Elbow on the chimpanzee to finally reach the top of the UWF mountain nearly one year after his debut.

As forgettable as Almasy's first Global run was, his second was memorable due to the Final Fantasy taking on the guise of Emoticon.

All-Star Championship Wrestling

2004-2006

While considered a household name in Primetime Central, there were many corners of the wrestling world who had only heard of Seymour Almasy. Seymour's entry into ACW was considered by many an opportunity for Seymour to prove himself against a whole new set of talent.

Almasy started his career in ACW with a dream feud for PTC die-hards against strong tournament competitor Kasper Sky. After finally beating Sky at Relentless 2004, Seymour moved into a rivalry with Kelly Flawless and Fejona Min. Along the way, Almasy briefly dated Min's second Natalie Quinston, and scored a hard-fought win over Quinton May. At the time, many considered this Almasy's biggest non-PTC win to date. At 2005's breakOUT PPV, Almasy did just that, capturing the ACW Television Championship from Min in a match also featuring Flawless. Soon after, Min departed ACW, and Almasy was also given the ACW Scorpion Fighting Championship by virtue of his victory.

After a title defense against Lowell Dot Com, Lowell announced he had purchased a "reset button" to annihilate the Final Fantasy. This turned out to be Violence Jack and his Sect of Black Wisdom, who would go on to brutalize Almasy in the coming weeks. Jack himself took his shot at the Television title, only to fight Seymour to a thirty minute draw. The very next week, Almasy went to a sixty minute draw with the King of Submission, Max Danger, before defending both of his titles in a brutal five man elimination bout at End Game 2005. Almasy walked out with only the Television title intact, and was promptly assaulted by the newest member of the Sect: the mammoth Hound. In spite of this, Almasy managed to make his way to the final four of the massive End Game Match, defeating Rook Black and Alias to win the contest and earn a shot at ACW World Champion Khristain Keller.

Almasy's brutal schedule soon overcame him, in a title defense against best friend Andy Sharp. Sharp's Sharper Image enzuigiri finished the match in a matter of minutes, to the shock of the capacity crowd. Sharp offered his friend a rematch after he recovered from exhaustion at the Ready or Not PPV, in a ladder match. Almasy accepted, and the two friends battled it out until Khristain Keller's interference helped Sharp retain his prized title.

On the road to [[Legends II] and his shot at history, Almasy kept up a fast pace, taking on talent such as Coral Avalon and The Codemaster, all the while evading Keller. To the shock of all, however, Keller faltered at the last hurdle, losing his championship on the final Courage before the PPV to Max Danger. This forced the match to become a triple threat contest, Keller v. Almasy v. Danger. After a tough battle, Almasy came out on top, using his Glory to Airyglyph 630 splash to pin Keller and become the new champion. Per Keller's stipulation, this forced Keller from ACW.

Almasy kept up a blistering pace early on as champion, taking on athletes such as Brandon Youngblood and Gabriel Brown, before successfully defending his belt twice at Honor and Glory in 2006, first against [Machiaveli St. Romani]], then again in a Survival of the Fittest match against five other challengers. Following this PPV, however, rumors backstage were that Almasy's willpower was starting to slip. Making matters worse were the insanity that often took place on ACW shows due to Lowell Dot Com having bought the company and ruling over it as Lord Lowell.

Seymour's will was also sapped by the betrayal of longtime friend, Andy Sharp. Aligning with the Blue Rogues and dubbing himself Andrew Sharp, Andy made a beeline for his former friend and the World Title. After a harrowing barbed wire Hell in a Cell war at [[Holocaust 2006], Andrew captured the title on ACW's final show: Courage 100, reverting back to the moves of Andy Sharp and using the Five Sharp Frog Splash to win the belt. Unfortunately for Andy, the company was closed that night by Lord Lowell, and ACW went off the air for nearly three long years.

2009

Almasy was one of the athletes competing on what was presumed to be a one night only ACW return. He competed in the main event, losing to Alias in a hardfought battle. He was in the ring when the company announced its full time return.

As one of the competitors in the ACW World Championship Tournament, Almasy defeated Tony Sharp, then won a triple threat match against Kelly Masters and Kelly Flawless to set up his fifth ever one on one match against Andy Sharp. This time, Almasy brought the ledger closer by beating Andy to once again become ACW World Champion. It seemed as if it would be a promising reign, with a war against Violence Jack looming, and Horace Tully having joined Almasy's cause against his former mentor.

However, Almasy's second ACW run ended in shockingly violent fashion, as the Final Fantasy was found in a straitjacket, beaten to within an inch of his life by a mystery assailant. This forced the company to scramble and put forward a substitute to the planned Almasy v. Jack main event, settling on a battle royale for the World Championship that was won by Max Danger.

It was only months later that, after a lengthy search, Almasy's assailant had been identified as Khristain Keller, the very man that Almasy had sent into retirement from ACW at Legends II. Claiming (perhaps justifiably) that Almasy was dragging the company down, Keller's actions were punished by Alias in a brutal best of five falls match at The Wake.

In spite of the horrific nature of Keller's acts, ACW's subsequent success makes it difficult to argue with the man's intent, if not his methodology.

Global Championship Wrestling

In what few interviews he has given on the subject, Almasy admits that his failure to become GCW World, or even United States, Champion

2005-2006

Almasy's time in GCW came to an end at the hands of Brandon Youngblood, who defeated Almasy in his then-final GCW match, and Steven Caldera, who subsequently fired Almasy from the company.

Almasy would make one final appearance for GCW, teaming with hated enemy Caldera against other hated enemy Rich Rollins and Angelo Deville. The contest is the only ever meeting between Deville and Almasy, and is Almasy's final battle against Rollins before the latter's untimely death. Following Caldera and Almasy's victory, Seymour stepped away from GCW.

2008

On WorldWide's third anniversary, a figure in a hooded sweatshirt made his way to the ring through the crowd and launched into an anti-GCW tirade. Soon enough, he revealed himself to be Seymour Almasy, and promised that he would be GCW's Standard Bearer, a claim that never quite came to fruition.

Perhaps appropriately, it was Lia who sent Seymour away from GCW in his final match, defeating him with her patented Canto VII at Warpath 2008.

Other Promotions

During his tenure, Seymour Almasy has also competed for other companies under a wide variety of aliases. Among these promotions are The X, DWO, XUDF, LOW, and many others. Almasy's runs in these companies were often short, ending due to either the company folding or Almasy's own loss of interest.

Primetime Central

Seymour is perhaps PTC's best known talent, but also arguably its most polarizing. Most of Seymour's biggest victories have been widely disputed.

Tournaments

Perhaps Almasy's greatest fame as a professional wrestler came in major tournament competition. Since GTT3, Almasy competed in every major PTC tournament, with widely varying success.

GTT3

Almasy came into GTT3 as a round two play-in, representing the UWF, and defeating Acid in the first round. He moved up in competition in the third round, defeating Global Wrestling's Jack Panzer. This set up a fourth round clash with NTICW's Mordred, which Seymour won to claim his bracket. His fifth-round match was a narrow defeat to then-PCW World Champion Totally Tubular Tommy. Nonetheless, Almasy's run had given both himself and the UWF considerable exposure, and served as an early indication of what would go on to be UWF competitors dominating many PTC events.

PIT

The Primetime Invitational Tournament was PTC's first tournament upon separating from Primetime Championship Wrestling. Originally, it was to be for a shot at Donny Diamond's PTC Global Championship, but Diamond vacated the title before the tournament, and it was decided that the tournament would instead be for the title. Almasy was considered an early favorite after his deep GTT3 run, and he lived up to such billing by quickly dispatching Ethan Evans, Noah Hanson, and Iron Lung to make the final eight, before conquering Fathom to set up his spot in the final four against fellow UWF competitor Kenny Mercury. Almasy was victorious, setting up a final round clash against Roulette of the DWO. Seymour scored his first ever victory against a DWO competitor, defeating her with the debut of his awesome One-Hit Kill finisher to capture his first PTC Global Championship.

Almasy went on to defend the belt twice, against Angelus Sorrow of the DWO, and Dave Harley of the WWA, before falling to Chris Storm in a triple-thread match for the title that also involved AWS Man (Also Known As Bill).

CW1

Fresh off his PIT success, Almasy entered the first ever rendition of the PTC Cruiserweight Tournament against arguably a more loaded field. He fended off a tough challenge from Matt Jackson and Lorenzo Guevera in the first round, before taking on the demonic Pietro Geist in round two. Almasy's win earned hm a match against Horazon, setting up his spot in a murderer's row final four featuring himself, Ethan Knight, Syko Arsonist, and Karina Wolfenden. Almasy dispatched Arsonist, then eked out a tough win over RPW's resident superstar, earning him the CW1 crown and making him the first and only competitor in PTC history to win back to back tournaments.

GTT4

By GTT4, Almasy's reputation in tournaments had grown such that Tournament Director Argyle made knocking out the Final Fantasy a focus of the event, launching a huge hype campaign around Seymour. The tournament was also the biggest since GTT3 with a loaded talent field.

Almasy fended off the tough challenge of the WWA's Jonathan Winters in round one, before another tough battle against Darek DeAngelo of Four Winds Wrestling. Almasy defeated XUW's Joey Vendetti in round three, before battling the unknown upstart Craig Goat in round four. To the astonishment of the wrestling world, Goat triumphed over Almasy, bouncing him from GTT4.

CW2

Almasy's woes would continue in CW2, where he sought to defend his tournament title. His first round opponent, Archibald MacGregor, put a quick stop to that by knocking Almasy out in the first round. MacGregor would go on to be PTC Extreme Champion and enemy of all PTC, while Almasy was left to stew in his juices of a second straight early tournament exit.

GTT5

Seymour dispatched the Back Alley Brawler in a very tough second round matchup, before taking out upset-minded PRIME star Clyde Walkins in round three. Round four was a four-way two elimination match, with Almasy and Kimbusa surviving Ember and William Gwynn. In spite of Kimbusa beating Almasy in round four, Almasy came back to take the Mrs. Warr Bracket by paying Kimbusa back in round five with a win, setting Almasy up to face hated rival Rich Rollins in the semi-finals of GTT5.

After a hellish war, Rollins triumphed in a match that still effects Seymour to this very day. Still, angered as he was at his inability to beat the Renegade, Almasy had restored some of his former tournament glory.

GTT6

Once again, much of the hype for GTT6 centered around Almasy, as he rode into the tournament both as PTC Global Champion and able to name his first round opponent. In a moment of arrogance, Seymour stated that he did not care who he would face, prompting Argyle to auction off the right to face Almasy, an auction won by Kimbusa. In a first round match for the PTC Global Championship, Kimbusa took his lifetime series with Almasy, vanquishing Seymour to become the new champion.

Almasy received a play-in bid, but was defeated in round two by PRIME's Killiean Sirrajin.

GTT7

Vowing that it would be his last PTC event, Seymour Almasy rode into battle to face Kaden Calix and Jared Sykes in the first round of the tournament. The future SCCW Universal Champion proved victorious, eliminating Almasy from his second straight GTT in the first round.

As in GTT6, Almasy recieved a play-in to round two, but once again faced a difficult challenge in the form of Terrence Kingsley, who unceremoniously bounced Almasy from the tournament once more in Almasy's final PTC match.

Post-Career and Retirement

In retirement, it seems that Seymour has finally found the privacy he sought for much of his career. Since his final appearance in late 2009, he has all but disappeared from the wrestling radar. Many consider it a matter of time until he returns, while some belief the losses he sustained in both GTT6 and GTT7 have convinced him that his time has passed.

All, however, believe that he's probably playing a fuckton of RPGs one way or the other.
