[The lights fade to complete obscurity as the crowd grows ominously still. Silence fills the air as the blackness consumes the venue. Before long, a single royal blue spotlight dimly illuminates the ring. Then a loud cry as the music begins to play.]

Let's fight!

[A massive explosion of pyrotechnics shoots up from the upper stage in a hellish glory, instantly raising the temperature of the whole building. The heat creates a precarious animosity that is only disturbed when less violent tone of Adema’s lead singer Bobby Reeves calms the song down for a moment.]

We're face to face

Loyalty is what I need to see from you

[The stage is now riddled with royal blue and crimson red spotlights, each one placed in just the right spot. A thick, mist of light-grey smoke arises from below the ramp and surrounds the entrance to the ring. Before long the smoke fills the first few rows of the entire arena and then a video package begins to play upon the giant screen situated above the upper stage. The word to Immortal and scrolling across the incredible screen as the singer vocalizes them.]

[Without any warning, A monstrous figure emerges from behind the curtain to grace the stage with it’s eerie presence. Several man created electrical bolts clash from the rafters down to small metal rods waiting to attract them; just as a wrestling familiarity becomes completely unobstructed. The Dark Angel, The Ominous One, The Immortal, Darek DeAngleo begins to saunter towards the squared-circle in a rather nonchalant manner. The Stage spots fade and as quickly as they disappeared, Faint white light begins to brighten the void from below the ramp.]

I need the rush

There's nowhere you could hide before you die

Why won't you face me?

I can see the fear that's in your eyes

[Darek stops before the battle ground he has called home for over a decade and without any warning, shoots his arms to the farthest horizons while leaning his head back and allowing his ice blue eyes to close. Taking in the moment, he releases a small sigh and then his trademark laughter; a sound that could send chills down anyone’s spine. Turning towards the metal staircase, Darek adjusts his leather jacket which has two long black Angel wings attached to the back; both splattered in a crimson red substance. He adjusts his leather pant, waist line and then proceeds to the steps.]

[After three long steps, the man, myth and legend of many federations, reaches to the top rope and pushes it down slightly, allowing himself to step over the top and enter the ring. Surveying his surroundings, Darek takes a moment to inhale the life that has been breathed into him. He blocks out the roar of the crowd as he leans over to tug onto the top rope before stepping into the middle of the ring.]

[With his arms once again outstretched, Darek again closes his eyes. Only this time as he closes them, four bolts of lightning strike the ring. One attacking each ring post and leaving a small smell burnt metal and tin cloud of smoke above each ring pole. Darek opens his eyes and awaits his destiny.]

[The arena lights fade to complete darkness. An eerie feeling has suspended itself in the building. Then purple and red strobe lights begin to flicker casting vague shadows all over the arena. From beneath the ramp way, thick grey smoke ascends into the atmosphere. Attempting to break the thick smoke, a single red spotlight shines directly up the ramp way.]

He's on it again.

[The fog begins to disperse and the strobe lights fade from existence. The sole red light illuminates the ramp as the GlobalTron begins to play footage. At first the screen is black and the words: 'The Apocalypse, Every Beginning Has an End' appear in a deep blood red, then in a few seconds the letters begin to bleed down the screen. Right after a video package Amanda's highlights since joining Global are shown: She and Darek blasting her opponents from behind, followed by footage of her glory days in 4ww and GWA. Then from behind the curtain, Amanda DeAngleo steps out onto the stage with a sly grin on her face. Another spotlight now shines directly down into the ring, this one is deep blue.]

Punk-ass, are you listening, can you hear me?

[Amanda makes her way down the ramp, she is drapped in a long black leather trench coat that drags along behind her as she walks. Beneath the jacket she is wearing a front zipper, black and red; lace and leather corset. Tight black vinyl pants that flare at the bottom with red flames designed along the bottom and side of the legs. Her eyes look focused as she approaches the starway into the ring. Climbing up, she walks along the side of the apron and climbs the opposite turnbuckle. Stoppong at the second buckle, she leans forward on the third and then stretches her arms out to the horizons. She stretches her arms to the horizon and the house lights return, while the blue and red light disappear. Climbing to the top of the ringpost, Amanda jumps into the ring.]

'Darek DeAngleo' (Original Bio) Note: This is an Old bio that I used to use before I changed Darek from a real Angel of Death to a man playing a gimmick. My horizons have broadened since I wrote this in 1998. A lot of details have changed, dates of birth and background story especially.

Born to a poor family Darek Angle had grown up as a child in the early 60's. In 1966 when Darek had turned 9, fate it seems had caught up with time. Darek passed away during a lightning storm on the family farm. Darek was survived by his Mother, Father, and 3 Brothers. Christmas 1966 the year of Dareks death was particularly hard on the family. Darek's mother had turned to the love of another man and had 2 of Dareks brothers (Roland Xavier and Brian Roberts) with him. His father had turned to the bottle, he treated his family with an onslaught of physical and emotional abuse. Christmas eve, Dareks mother, father and Brother (Siefer) had sat down to dinner, little did they know what would happen. Dareks father had lost all control and poisoned the meal, after dinner as his wife and son lie face down on the table he pulled the trigger on a gun that he put in his mouth. Miraculously Siefer survived and moved on with his life repenting the death of his brother. Brothers! Brian and Roland grew up with their uncle Joe Scull. So the story ends?

The following Easter sunday a boy was found wandering the wintery hills of western Alberta. The boy was later identifed as Darek Angle. Baffled by the mystery in his apparent death and miraculous reappearence the authorites held the boy for questioning. With no apparent memory, the boy was placed into the care of the Catholic Church under the watch of Father Dimiscus. While stumped as to the true identity of the boy, it became rumoured of an old scripture detailing the return of death. It was said that in the year 1666, the year of the witches, the year of darkness, God sent an Angel of Death. A human born but Godly strengthed being to condemn the evil. It was also said that the being would live the life of a human and would be reborn each One Hundred years. The bloodline stayed the same but these rumours were never substaintiated and noone searched the bloodline out. Three Centuries have passed and now the Catholic Church stands as close to the prophecy as any person could.! Eventually they learned this to be true when the boy began to display extreme strength and ability with proper training. The priesthood began to tell stories of his coming and soon the entire church knew they held a weapon, God's weapon. Many of the priests filled Darek's head with lies. They built his confidence as though he were indestructable. It was said that Darek was the last face anyone saw before they died, they had been touched by death. When Darek was old enough, he left the church. While looking for money to live off of he found a job with a local wrestling federation. He worked the indy circles with the federation and grew more and more attached to the infliction of pain he caused. He longed to hurt those who sinned, he urged to punnish the wicked. Darek was Brought up into the GCW where he continued his winning streak becoming one half of the tag team champions in his first national show. When GCW closed it's doors Darek moved to rival company the GWA. He start! ed small in this huge company and continued to tear through t! he competition. At this time he met Amanda, a young woman he saved from certain death. Amanda became orphaned and Darek placed her into the care of Father Dimiscus. As Darek continued his wrestling cover to appear normal he used the 'truth' of being the Angel of Death as his gimmick. When She was old enough Amanda became engaged to Darek. His life was going well and his profession, just as good. He soon became the Television Champion, he relinquished the title when he won the GWA Hardcore Championship. For just over three months Dark Angel held the Hardcore title. The world came crashing down and reality caught up with the dreamer. Father Dimiscus had died in an explosion caused by a man who wanted Dark Angel's title. Knowing that his face would be the last thing Dimiscus saw drove Darek to the edge. He walked into the GWA arena and fought Major Payne and lost. He was placed into a casket and set on fire. Being bron human, there was pain and Darek knew he was not immortal.

This was a turning point in his life, Darek blammed God for his loss of a father figure and for the pain of defeat and the fire that scorched his body. Darek used his strength to completely destroy the competition in GWA. As he rose to the top he began to think himself more and more as a God. His strength was unmatched, and the mind games he weaved could not be penetrated. He used his power to benefit himself and inflict pain on others. Most people who have met Dark Angel, believe this is just a gimmick, some think it may be real and we know the truth...
