Tyler Rayne was given a bye into a match for the vacant 5-Star Title, where he eventually faced Nitz Donnelly and won the belt. Tony Gamble defended the Intense Title against Wade Elliott in a No Rope Barbed Wire match. Devin Shakur defeated Hoyt Williams to earn a Universal Title shot. In the main event, Lindsay Troy beat Danny Ferguson and then-champ Sonny Silver to win her second Universal Championship.

Colossus III was named show of the year by the Holzerman Blog Awards and Killean Sirrajin vs. Tchu from that same card was named the fourth best match of the year as well. Colossus is typically held in August and not only is it the biggest event of the year, but it also provides a great jumping off point for the rest of the year with the Jewel in the Crown tournament.
