Scott Andrew Issac Jeffries (born June 20, 1982), better known by his ring name, Saij, was a professional wrestler for the now-defunct Xtreme Ultimo Wrestling (XUW). His career in XUW spanned from 2002 through 2007. In that time, he won numerous titles, awards, and events. His most notable accomplishments include winning the XUW World Title, the PTC Global Title, and being elected to the XUW Hall of Fame.

He spent the majority of career as one of XUW's most beloved heroes, known to his fans (dubbed "Fark-O-Maniacs") as The Master of the Huzzah and The One-Man Army Of Farkness. Both nicknames stem from his incessant usage of the word "fark," and his catchphrase, "Huzzah!"

Saij was a member of one of XUW's longest-running stables, the Boomer Sooners, whose other principal members included Dave Kipfer, Fatbadger, and Chase Wilson.

He was known mostly for his goofball antics and for often putting his own well-being on the line for the cause of good. He grew bitter towards XUW in the federation's last days after being unceremoniously fired, and played a major role in XUW's ultimate collapse.

XUW Career

Debut

Saij’s made his XUW debut in July of 2002 with a victory against Tiger Mask V. In the weeks that followed, Saij began to feud with fellow newcomer Ric Austin over the XUW Television Title; this started a long and bitter rivalry that would be frequently revisited over the years. At Road Rage 2 in August 2002, Saij and Austin faced off in a Blindfold Match, with Saij capturing the Television Title from Austin. He lost the title several days later to Sidhe Nimh.

Saij’s stock began to rise quickly soon after dropping the Television Title. He defeated Syco at Dingos & Darkness in September 2002 for a shot at the XUW Intercontinental Title, and joined the Boomer Sooners stable (which included best friends Dave Kipfer and Fatbadger) shortly thereafter. At Unknown Factors in October 2002, Saij and Numark, the Intercontinental Title holder, waged a classic ladder match that saw Saij capture his first major XUW title in a spectacular finish: both men grabbed the belt at the same time as the ladder collapsed beneath them. As they fell to the mat, Saij wrested the belt away and came down in sole possession. This was the match that catapulted Saij into the XUW limelight.

Intercontinental Title Reign

Saij set an XUW record for the longest single reign with the Intercontinental Title at the time. His first reign as the Intercontinental Champion (or as he liked to say, “The Champion of the Interconts!!!1”) was abbreviated. Only a couple of weeks after defeating Numark, Saij lost the belt to BoneCrusher after being attacked by Henrik The King with a kendo stick during a title defense. This sparked a fury inside Saij (what his friends fearfully referred to as his “murderous rage”), and he won the title back with an authoritative victory over BoneCrusher and Henrik The King at More Double Trouble in a triple threat match in November 2002. Saij and Henrik continued their feud until Saij successfully defended the Intercontinental Title against Henrik at December 2 Dismember 2, the final XUW show on the 2002 calendar.

In January 2003, Saij was paired with rival M V Pete in the Deadly Draw tournament. Unable to stand teaming with Saij, Pete intentionally knocked Saij out and cost them their first-round match. Saij got a measure of revenge later that month at Cause & Effect, stealing a victory from Pete with a schoolboy roll-up to escape with the Intercontinental Title still around his waist.

After four months as the Intercontinental Champion, Saij finally lost the belt to Pete in a rematch from Cause & Effect. On a mid-February episode of Vortex, the two foes put on a classic match that saw Saij’s reign come to an end.

In March 2003 at Reborn, Saij teamed with Numark in a tag match against the New Royal Legion, the self-proclaimed L.O.S.T. Tag Title Champions. Saij and Numark were defeated, and Saij was expelled from XUW by the New Royal Legion as the result of a “stipulation” in the insanely convoluted L.O.S.T. Titles rulebook.

World Title Reign

After finding a loophole in the L.O.S.T. Title rules, Saij returned to XUW in May 2003 just in time for Stable Wars. The Boomer Sooners defeated the legendary Army of Darkness in the first round, before falling to the Usual Suspects in the semifinal. Saij’s performance, however, was impressive enough to garner him a spot an 8-man tournament for the vacated XUW World Title. Saij defeated the Fallen Fae and Dante to reach the final, before being narrowly defeated by HBK at Stamped Authority in June 2003.

Saij’s hopes of becoming XUW World Champion seemed lost when the Ultra Violents took over as the XUW commissioners. But, he managed to finagle his way into a triple threat match at Violent Times in July 2003, against HBK and Dave Kipfer. Despite heavy interference from the Ultra Violents, Saij managed to pin Kipfer, with an unlikely assist from M V Pete, to win the XUW World Title.

Saij’s reign with the belt lasted 19 weeks, shattering Samurai Bob’s previous record for the single longest World Title reign. His first major test came against DDT in an epic bout on XUW Mayhem, which saw DDT nearly win the long-coveted belt. Saij and Kipfer faced off in a long-awaited showdown at Road Rage 3 in August 2003; Saij defeated his former best friend to retain the belt, and Kipfer was soon committed to an insane asylum thereafter.

After Road Rage 3, Saij renewed his rivalry with M V Pete, setting up their third and final encounter at Farkness & Darkness in September 2003. They raised the stakes from their previous battles, squaring off for the World Title in an “I Quit” match. Both gold and ego were on the line in a long and bloody battle; in the end, Saij forced Pete to say the words “I quit” after locking him up in an STF.

Along the way, Saij also defended the belt against other superstars such as “The Bastard” Al Crud, Wildlife, and the Anarchist. His reign finally came to an end in November 2003 at Triple Trouble in a triple threat match, when the Anarchist pinned him to win the title.

Saij’s shot to reclaim the XUW World Title came one month later, at December 2 Dismember 3, in the biggest match for the belt in XUW’s history: the Torture Chamber. The Anarchist put his belt on the line against Saij, Henrik The King, Dante, Ric Austin, and the Latch Key Kid. Saij, who started the match at the opening bell, nearly won the title back when he and Austin were the two last men standing. But, Austin shocked the world by strapping Saij down to a torture rack and pinning him to win the match and the title. This was the first time Saij had been pinned by his archenemy.

XUW Commissionership & Feud With Ric Austin

Saij’s feud with Ric Austin turned personal when his fight with his archenemy became a fight for his life. After suffering another first-round defeat in the Deadly Draw in January 2004, Saij got into a brawl with Austin that climaxed in a showdown atop the Ultitron. Austin eventually smashed Saij in the skull with a sledgehammer, causing him to fall off the giant structure to the stage below. Saij went into a coma and suffered career- and life-threatening injuries. It was not known if or when he would return.

At the 2004 edition of Reborn that spring, Ric Austin—who had lost the World Title to Fatbadger and The Shadow a month before—walked out to the ring and demanded a shot at his old belt. Instead, he received a nasty surprise—Saij had returned, and had been named the XUW Commissioner. With his new power and a thirst for revenge, Saij promptly fired Austin. This was simply to toy with him, though; Saij allowed Austin to win his job back by wrestling and defeating the Cockjockey’s giant inflatable penis. Saij continued to humiliate and demean Austin over the course of several weeks; he forced him to wrestle in matches where he had to kiss his opponent’s ass in order to win, and cut his salary by a staggering 99 percent. Austin soon filed a lawsuit against Saij to have him fired as the XUW Commissioner.

In June 2004, a court judge ruled in favor of Austin, and had Saij removed as the XUW Commissioner. Before Saij left his office, however, he made a couple of eleventh-hour moves. First, he placed himself back on the active roster and set the brackets for the 2004 edition of Stable Wars, ensuring that he would get to face Austin at some point during the tournament. Second, he set up a contract for the two men to face each other at Road Rage 4 later that fall. The showdown was set.

In the days leading up to Stable Wars, Saij managed to convince Dave Kipfer to return to XUW to re-unite with the Boomer Sooners. Along with Fatbadger and Rujasu (who was under the delusion of thinking he was former Sooner great, Chase Wilson), the Sooners handily defeated their first-round opponents before facing the Skeletons of Society (with whom Austin had teamed) in the semifinal. Saij and Austin had some minor scrapes during the match, but there was no major confrontation between the two. The Sooners squeaked out the victory over the Skeletons and went on to defeat the upstart XUDF team in the final to win the 2004 Stable Wars. Saij scored the final pinfall over Nurse Wretched when he executed the Idolizer, Austin’s trademark finishing move.

Before his showdown with Austin, Saij teamed up with Dave Kipfer to win the XUW Tag Titles as The One And Only Ginyu Force at XUW’s 4th Anniversary Show in August 2004.

Saij revealed to Austin that the match he had set for them was to be a scaffold match; this was meant to be revenge for Austin throwing Saij off the Ultitron. It was questionable whether both men would be able to wait for Road Rage 4 to fight each other. Austin attacked Saij and threw him off the top of an arena (albeit with a bungee cord tied to his ankles). Saij threw Austin off a loading dock and later attacked him with a Mountain Dew: Code Red truck. But finally, in October 2004, the night of destiny arrived. At Road Rage 4, in what was billed as "The Showdown on the Scaffold," Saij managed to throw Austin off of the scaffold and onto the concrete floor below to win the match. Austin suffered life-threatening injuries and was put on the inactive list indefinitely.

Feud With Blake Wolfson & Race Around The World

Having vanquished his most hated nemesis, Saij began a highly unusual feud with Blake Wolfson. Their rivalry began when Saij yelled, “YOU SUCK!!” at Wolfson for the pure hell of it; in turn, Wolfson replied, “Bastard! WE MUST FEUD!”

In the weeks that followed, Saij and Wolfson played a convoluted game of one-upsmanship with each other. Wolfson would attack Saij with a steel chair one week, and Saij would kick Wolfson in the testicles the next. Wolfson tricked Saij into eating an animal that he believed to be Saij’s pet (which was not the case), and Saij revealed to the world that Wolfson was sterile.

Although they were certainly destined to face each other anyway, things got much more interesting at the 2004 Halloween Battle Royal. Saij and Wolfson (who coincidentally had worn the same costume for the match—the exact same prom dress) ended up being the final two combatants in the annual contest, with a shot at the XUW World Title on the line. They managed to throw each other over the ropes and land on the floor at exactly the same time, resulting in a draw. It was determined that Saij and Wolfson would face each other for the #1 contendership to the World Title at December 2 Dismember 4.

After a lengthy deliberation as to what the match itself would be, Saij and Wolfson settled on making it a “Loser’s Choice” two-out-of-three falls match, where the loser of each fall would get to choose a special stipulation for the next fall on the spot.

At December 2 Dismember 4, Saij and Wolfson played a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors to determine who would go first. Wolfson won, but Saij reminded him that it was loser’s choice, so Saij chose the first fall: a two-man over-the-top-rope battle royal. Saij won after narrowly forcing Wolfson over the top rope and down to the floor. Wolfson picked the next fall: an empty arena match. The arena staff was forced to hurriedly escort everyone out of the building, leaving Saij and Wolfson alone. After fighting all over the arena, into the locker rooms, kitchens, and concessions, Wolfson finally pinned Saij to win the second fall.

The third fall is what cemented the match in XUW legend. Saij called for the Wheel of Super Farkness to randomly determine the third fall. Saij gave the wheel a spin, and it landed on “Race Around The World.” In order to win the match, Saij and Wolfson were to travel through every country on the planet and then be the first person to return to the XUW ring. The fall lasted several weeks, as XUW camera crews followed the two through Mexico, Europe, China, Thailand, and beyond.

It wasn’t until mid-January in 2005 when the two arrived back in the United States. Wolfson bribed arena security staff to prevent Saij from entering the building. Saij managed to climb onto the arena roof and made his way down to the catwalk inside. He got onto the roof of a steel cage and started to lower it slowly to the arena floor. Wolfson made a dash for the ring as Saij descended. In a desperate attempt to buy some time, Saij launched himself off the cage and crashed onto Wolfson, knocking both men out. The cage settled on the arena floor, surrounding the ring. After one last brutal fight, Saij just barely managed to enter the cage and roll into the ring first, winning a shot at the XUW World Title. This was the longest match in wrestling history, lasting several weeks.

Retirement

Saij’s return to the World Title picture was overshadowed by his announcement that he would soon retire, due to the lasting effects of the injuries sustained from Ric Austin and to raise his soon-to-be-born child. He wrestled against the Latch Key Kid for the XUW World Title at Cause & Effect in March 2005, in what was thought to be his final match. After a spectacular match from two of XUW’s most respected heroes, LKK pinned Saij to retain the title. Saij bowed out gracefully, bidding farewell to his fans and standing with his friends, the Boomer Sooners, for seemingly the last time.

Return & Feud With Theodoro Gutierrez

Saij unexpectedly returned to XUW for the 4th Anniversary Show in August 2005 as the special guest referee for a six-man cage match for the XUW World Title. The match was brutal, and Saij could barely manage to keep things under control. At one point, XUW icon Robert Anderson (who had previously been beloved by fans as the hero Samurai Bob) struck Saij over the head with a steel chair, knocking him out. Saij recovered in time to make the three-count to crown his best friend, Dave Kipfer, as the new XUW World Champion. After being in the middle of such a hard-fought match, Saij got the urge to wrestle again. In September 2005, he announced his comeback to XUW. His first big challenge was facing up-and-coming XUW superstar Theodoro Gutierrez at Road Rage 5, a match Saij only won via disqualification after a particularly brutal attack by Theo.

When Saij returned, he brought his new infant daughter, Leanne, with him. Theo took advantage of this, kidnapping Leanne and forcing Saij to face him once again in a no holds barred, falls count anywhere grudge match, so he could brutalize Saij as much as he pleased. Saij accepted the match, knowing the odds were against him. At December 2 Dismember 5, the match was virtually two against one, as Theo was accompanied to the ring by Nurse Wretched. Both of them teamed up against Saij, but Saij managed to fight back and immobilized Nurse Wretched by handcuffing her to the ring barrier. Saij and Theo fought their way backstage, where Theo attacked Saij by strangling him with Christmas lights and powerbombing him through a table of glass ornaments. Saij managed to pull out the victory when he landed the Final Huzzah on Theo through a broken mirror. He won back his daughter, and vowed from that day on to never let her out of his sight ever again.

2006: Several Near-Misses

The new year meant new opportunities for Saij. With Theo out of the picture, Saij was able to focus on his bid to win the 2006 Deadly Draw. Things looked promising as he was teamed with an old foe during his days as XUW Intercontinental Champion: Henrik The King. Favored to win the Deadly Draw, Saij and Henrik breezed through the first two rounds to reach the semifinal at Cause & Effect in March 2006. Saij tried to promote a “team image” by helping Henrik learn to be one of the “good guys,” convincing him to take the moniker of “Henrique Iglesias,” wearing ridiculous leather outfits and learning to sing Latino love ballads. Henrik, who had designs to let Saij carry the team to the final round and then snatch away victory, was on the verge of snapping at his teammate. At Cause & Effect, Saij and Henrik scored a huge win over Joey Vendetti and Gator to reach the team final; ultimately, Henrik’s hatred of Saij overtook him, as he knocked him out with a pair of brass knuckles during the match. Dave Kipfer and Hardcore Jon defeated the duo as a result.

Henrik and Saij continued their rivalry on the road to Reborn, with Joey Vendetti getting caught up in the mix. The three faced off in a triple threat ladder match at Reborn, with a shot at the XUW World Title on the line. Saij was able to come away with something of a moral victory over Henrik, but Vendetti eked out the win, leaving Saij disappointed once again.

The Boomer Sooners were once again fully reunited as summer 2006 rolled around, and they teamed up one more time for Stable Wars. Saij won the #1 seed in the tournament for the Sooners after winning a hellacious eight-man cage match featuring representatives from each Stable Wars team, earning the Sooners the easiest path through the field. They defeated the Revolutionaries and Team Old School to reach the final round against Ze Professionals. In the final match, the Sooners were quickly eliminated until only Saij remained against Dr. Curiosity, Nurse Wretched, and The Shadow. He fought back valiantly, evening the odds by eliminating Nurse Wretched and then coaxing a disqualification out of The Shadow; in the end, a top-rope Shrodinger's Smack by Curiosity resulted in a Stable Wars victory for Ze Professionals. It was the second time Saij had been one of the last two men standing in Stable Wars, and this time he came out on the losing end.

The End Of Fark-O-Mania

With XUW’s 5th Anniversary Show around the corner, Saij decided to lay down a challenge to an XUW legend that he had never faced one-on-one: Robert Anderson, aka Samurai Bob. Anderson accepted the match, saying it wouldn’t be a challenge, but a “massacre.” Things got heated between the two men, as Anderson sneak-attacked Saij before a marquee match-up against Dr. Curiosity. Saij responded the following week by calling Anderson out to the ring. When he didn’t show, Saij went looking backstage for him.

The two got into a backstage brawl; Saij’s daughter Leanne inadvertently got in the line of fire, and came very close to being seriously injured when a stack of crates fell over near her. She emerged unscatched, but XUW co-commissioners DJ and Sev saw the whole thing. They asked Saij to report to their office, where they informed him that they would be ending his contract with XUW after his match with Anderson, for the sake of his daughter’s safety.

This move left Saij with bitter feelings toward XUW. At the 5th Anniversary Show in August 2006, Saij handily defeated Anderson and left him with serious facial injuries after landing a Final Huzzah on his face with a steel chair. Saij then left the arena with his daughter, angry that his XUW career had ended in this way.

Betrayal & Demise Of XUW

While Saij was away from XUW, the federation was bought by an enigmatic figure who only allowed himself to be known as the "XUW Owner" (who was later to be revealed as former XUW superstar X-Factor). The XUW Owner hated XUW with a passion; he bought the federation so he could slowly ruin and destroy it. He fired DJ and Sev from their jobs as co-commissioners and hired Scotty Spalzcutoff to take their place. This allowed Saij to make a brief return to XUW at Reborn in May 2007. At this show, DJ and Sev had challenged Scotty and the XUW Owner to a tag match, with control of XUW on the line. Saij and Dave Kipfer disguised themselves as two of the XUW Owner's masked bodyguards; when the other bodyguards attacked DJ and Sev during the match, Saij and Kipfer fought them off to turn the match in favor of DJ and Sev. But in a shocking move, Saij turned on Dave, knocking him out with a steel chair; he then did likewise to DJ and Sev, as revenge for being fired by them several months before. Saij's action won the match for Scotty and the XUW Owner, sealing XUW's doom.

XUW closed its doors only months later, and Saij's whereabouts to this day remain unknown.
