Kellen (Kelly) Michael Masters was born in Virgina Beach, the son of Sgt. Scott Masters and Chloe Masters (Ryan). Kelly's father worked on a naval base near Virginia Beach, while Chloe was a housewife. At the age of five, Kelly started wrestling under coaching from his father. He became quite talented, and was viewed as a 'top prospect' going into high school. Prior to his freshman year, his father was killed in a training accident. Kelly was obviously shaken, but still managed to win the state title his first year. The next three years would be identical, each ending in an undefeated year. Legal trouble, during the summer after his senior year led to him losing his Division I scholarship offers. He still had options of course, with his body size and wrestling background, both mixed-martial arts and professional wrestling opportunities were on the table. | |||
