History

Colossus, the flagship PPV and biggest show of PRIME's calendar year, made its debut on July 11th, 2004 at the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisianna, in front of a capacity crowd of 70,864. The event, headlined by the Global Title match between Tony Rolo and Ignatius Lisieux, was a huge success, springing PRIME into its second year of existence.

From that point on, Colossus has become a summer tradition, capping off the PRIME year with one of the biggest, most highly anticipated events in professional wrestling. Since that July day, four more Colossus events have occurred, each one bringing PRIME to new heights, helping to establish the federation atop the industry.

Past Colossus Events

Colossus I

The first ever Colossus PPV emanated from the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisianna, on July 11th, 2004. Over 70,000 fans watched on that evening as history was made. The event featured a jam-packed card of 13 matches, including a variety of gimmicks and stipulations, such as steel cage, leather strap, and “I Quit”

On that July night, fans around the world witnessed the defense of four championships. Among them, the Intense Title, which was defended in a four-person syndicate structure match that ultimately saw Killean Sirrajin capture what would be his first of many titles over the course of what would become a Hall of Fame career. The evening was capped off with the Global Championship match, which resulted in Tony Rolo besting his rival, Ignatius Lisieux, in a classic match. The victory resulted in Rolo’s second reign as Global Champ, making him just the second man to hold PRIME’s top honor on two occasions.

Overall, the event was a huge success, paving the way for all future PRIME events, and marking a milestone in PRIME’s illustrious history.

Colossus III

On the night of August 13th, 2006, Tampa, FL played host to one of the most incredible wrestling events of all time... 75,000 fans packed Raymond James Stadium and watched on that evening, witnessing what many have called the greatest show in PRIME history. The event featured eight stunning matches, each one captivating PRIMEates around the world.

Colossus III saw five official PRIME championships on the line (not to mention one unsanctioned title). The event kicked off with Business & Pleasure capturing the Tag Titles. It was the first landmark win for Lindsay Troy in PRIME, though countless more would follow. Much like the first Colossus, the Intense Title was defended in intriguing fashion, as Nova squared off with The IFE in the world’s craziest ladder match, involving bongs and spontaneous combustion.

The night ended with a double main event. The first half of which saw Karina Wolfenden square off against Ignatius Lisieux in a battle of PRIME’s Present Vs. PRIME’s Past. In an epic encounter, the K-Wolf was somehow able to best Lisieux, retiring the Hall of Famer. And finally, Colossus III was brought to a close, under a steadily falling rain, by the Universal Championship match, which saw Killean Sirrajin defend against his nemesis, Tchu, in a match nearly four years in the making. The two rivals put on an often brutal, instantly classic match, worthy of a Colossus main event. In the end, two Downfalls were enough to slay the Supreme Machine, as Tchu captured his second Universal Title, finally vanquishing his greatest enemy.

Each of the two main-event matches would go on to share “Match of the Year” honors, and coupled with other fantastic encounters such as Tsonda Vs Noble and Kyle Lamen ending his career with an emotion victory over Danny Ferguson, CIII went on to become one of the most highly regarded events in history, earning numerous “Show of the Year” awards.
