Danny Ferguson is an American actor and professional wrestler currently employed by PRIME.

Early Life / Acting Career

Four Is A Crowd

El Spiffy!

Danny was the second (known) man to don the mask of El Spiffy!, "purchasing" the gimmick, Tom Brandi-style, from former Old School Wrestling competitor Matt Register. He was desperate for a return to fame, and was trying to use wrestling as a launching pad to Hollywood.

RUSH Wrestling

After a brief stay in the PWA, El Spiffy! was soon signed to RUSH Wrestling, which was run at the time by PCW legend Jeremy "Krayzie" Howard. Soon, he was involved in a months-long feud with RUSH megaheel Statuz Quo. After pursuing Quo and the RUSH Syndicate Title for the better part of a year, El Spiffy! finally defeated Quo in the latter's final match with the company.

El Spiffy! would go on to be the longest-reigning RUSH Syndicate Champion and defended the belt against such RUSH notables as Ebola III and Stimpo. He would also form a successful tag team with The Phantom Mullet.

Long considered the heart and soul of RUSH, El Spiffy! was injured by then-World Champion Tyler Valentine when Valentine turned on the company. During Spiffy!'s hiatus, RUSH was forced to close and folded into PCW.

Old School Wrestling

As El Spiffy!, Ferguson made one appearance in Old School Wrestling, losing to The White Mexican in a match where he would have won an OSW contract with a victory. This was the last known appearance of Ferguson as El Spiffy!.

Disappearance

Return To Hollywood

No one cared enough about Danny to keep track of him during this in-between period, but the next time anyone remembered seeing him, he was considerably larger in size and starting to make waves in Hollywood.

Supporting Roles

Not one person remembers how his foot got jammed in that door, but he began popping up in supporting roles for a couple high-grossing films, and soon had enough buzz around him to get his own starring vehicle.

Hard Money

That movie, Hard Money, became a startling surprise, becoming an unlikely summer blockbuster in 2005. The plot featured Ferguson as Conrad "Connie" Black, a World Series Of Poker competitor who takes down a corrupt casino boss and his army of thugs.

PRIME

Capitalizing on his flash-in-the-pan fame, and trying to cultivate a reputation as a tough guy to court action film scripts, Danny returned to wrestling, and he brought a little bit of Hollywood with him. He quickly found success as both a singles and tag wrestler, making it to the semifinals of the 2005 Jewel In The Crown tournament before his unwillingness to strike a woman ("It's a PR nightmare!") led to a disappointing loss to Aimz.

The A-List

Following JITC, Danny found his niche alongside Chandler Tsonda and The Illustrious Face-Eater. Collectively known as The A-List, the three men dominated PRIME's midcard for most of 2006, holding all major championships besides the Universal Title.

More Than Hardcore

During his stay in PRIME, Danny was cast as the title role in More Than Just Hardcore: The Terry Funk Story, a new biopic directed by Michael Mann. During this period, under Mann's meticulous guidance and emphasis on character development, he took on a number of traits of the Funker, and sought to duplicate his in-ring style with limited success. He did, however, pick up quite a bit of the Funker's ruthlessness and bloodlust.

Since the movie's release, Ferguson has garnered considerable awards buzz, no small feat for a pro wrestler starring in a movie about pro wrestling.
